How did the wave of global game releases perform in June 2026? We look back at the month’s fierce competition based on Metacritic scores.
A Well-Timed Debut: ‘Star Fox’
June was a relatively quiet month, dominated more by definitive editions, remakes, remasters, and DLCs than by entirely new titles. Among them, Nintendo’s classic IP ‘Star Fox’ achieved a ‘well-timed debut,’ earning a Metacritic score of 81 across 110 reviews. The game was described as a ‘flawed masterpiece.’ While it successfully updated the visuals for the Switch 2 and captured the shooting feel of the original, critics noted that the lackluster scenario and short playtime are areas that need improvement in future installments.
In addition, MINTROCKET released the new ‘Dave the Diver: In the Jungle’ DLC, SQUARE ENIX launched ‘The Thousand-Year Tale of Adventurer Elliot,’ and Capcom released ‘Devil May Cry: Devil Hunter Edition’ for the Switch 2.
๐ตโป A Quick Note: Metacritic scores vary by platform. The score displayed is not an aggregate of all platforms, but rather the score from the platform with the highest number of reviews. For example, Stellar Blade has 138 reviews on PS5 (81 points) and 32 reviews on PC (84 points); the PS5 score is the one displayed because it has more reviews.

PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a โmoney siteโ in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Googleโs ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as โlink juiceโ) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
